GLE - Graphics Layout Engine

Description
GLE is a graphics scripting language designed for creating publication quality graphs, plots, diagrams, figures and slides. GLE relies on LaTeX for text output. Its output formats include EPS, PS, PDF, JPEG, and PNG. GLE (Graphics Layout Engine) is a graphics scripting language designed for creating publication quality figures (e.g., a chart, plot, graph, or diagram). It supports various chart types (including function plot, histogram, bar chart, scatter plot, contour plot, color map, and surface plot) through a simple but flexible set of graphing commands. More complex output can be created by relying on GLE's scripting language, which is full featured with subroutines, variables, and logic control. GLE relies on LaTeX for text output and supports mathematical formulae in graphs and figures. GLE's output formats include EPS, PS, PDF, JPEG, and PNG. GLE is licenced under the BSD license. QGLE, the GLE user interface, is licenced under the GPL license.

FormScanner - Free OMR Software

Description
FormScanner is an OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) software that automatically marks multiple-choice papers.
FormScanner not bind you to use a default template of the form, but gives you the ability to use a custom template created from a simple scan of a blank form.
The modules can be scanned as images with a simple scanner and processed with FormScanner software.
All the collected information can be easily exported to a spreadsheet.

GNU PLOT

Gnuplot is a portable command-line driven graphing utility for Linux, OS/2, MS Windows, OSX, VMS, and many other platforms. The source code is copyrighted but freely distributed (i.e., you don't have to pay for it). It was originally created to allow scientists and students to visualize mathematical functions and data interactively, but has grown to support many non-interactive uses such as web scripting. It is also used as a plotting engine by third-party applications like Octave. Gnuplot has been supported and under active development since 1986.

Gnuplot supports many different types of 2D and 3D plots

Here is a Gallery of demos.

Gnuplot supports many different types of output

interactive screen display:cross-platform (Qt, wxWidgets, x11) or system-specific (MS Windows, OS/2)
direct output to file:postscript (including eps), pdf, png, gif, jpeg, LaTeX, metafont, emf, svg, ...
mouseable web display formats:HTML5, svg

ARENA

Since Arena Simulation Software is the most used Discrete Event Simulation Software in the world, students who have Arena experience possess a valuable skill sought after by many companies. With Arena training, students are introduced to the principles of simulation and will enhance their problem-solving skills by conducting effective simulation modeling, analysis, and research projects. Simulation concepts are understood quickly and easily through a simple flowchart modeling approach. There is no need to be a programmer to take advantage of Arena’s comprehensive features and capabilities. Furthermore, the knowledge and experience gained through university course work and research helps students build a strong foundation in discrete-event simulation that applies to real-world situations they will encounter in the workplace.

The Arena Student version provides the functionality of Arena Professional Edition, with only a limit to the size of the models that can be built. The student version is available for download free of charge!

ArcGIS Desktop

Professional GIS Authoring
There are lots of ways to make a map. But if people use your maps to make decisions that save money, time, or even lives, then you need to put science to work for you. Use ArcGIS for Desktop to build maps with up-to-date data, combined with deep analysis, and share them where they’ll have the most impact.

Create Smart Maps and Useful Apps

Visualize and share information in new ways for insightful and informed decision making. Map and manage your data with ArcGIS for Desktop, then create apps and share with others via the rest of the ArcGIS platform. ArcGIS for Desktop includes ArcGIS Online, so you immediately have access to a world of relevant content and ready-to-use apps to get you started right away.

Adams

The Multibody Dynamics Simulation Solution
As the world's most widely used Multibody Dynamics (MBD) software, Adams helps engineers to study the dynamics of moving parts, how loads and forces are distributed throughout mechanical systems.
Product manufacturers often struggle to understand true system performance until very late in the design process. Mechanical, electrical, and other subsystems are validated against their specific requirements within the systems engineering process, but full-system testing and validation comes late, leading to rework and design changes that are riskier and more costly than those made early on.

ANSYS

Computer-aided engineering is playing a growing role in higher education in the disciplines of science and engineering. At the undergraduate level, students use engineering simulation to learn physics principles and gain hands-on, real-world experience that can jump-start their careers. At the postgraduate level, researchers apply simulation tools to solve complex application problems. Commercial organizations regularly partner with educational institutions to foster innovative research — sometimes at the basic level — that can lead to breakthrough solutions.
